The numbers that tell you what's making money and what's slipping.

Profitability per job and per client, lead sources, needs-attention list, period comparison. Real numbers you can act on this week.

What this solves

You feel like the business is doing fine because the deposits keep coming in. But when you sit down at the end of the quarter and try to figure out which work is actually paying off, you cannot. Was the kitchen remodel a winner? Did you lose money on that long landscaping job? Which client is your most valuable? You don't know, because the data is split between QuickBooks, your inbox, and your head.

Reports in EosLog roll up the data you are already creating just by running the business. Every job carries its hours, its parts, its revenue, and the worker pay. The profitability report shows you which jobs cleared and which lost. The period comparison shows you whether this month is better or worse than last. The lead sources report shows which channel (Facebook, Google profile, intake form, referral) is sending you actual customers.

The needs-attention list shows what is slipping right now. Quotes that have been sitting unsigned for ten days. Invoices that are overdue. Jobs that should have been invoiced but were not. The list is a Monday morning checklist.

How it works

  1. Open the dashboard.

Reports, then Dashboard. Four core cards: profitability, period comparison, needs-attention, lead sources. Each is one click into the detail.

Reports dashboard with all four cards
  2. Drill into profitability.

Pick a date range, group by job, client, or service. Revenue, hours, worker pay, parts, and margin per row. Sort by margin to see your winners and losers.

  3. Compare periods.

Pick this month vs. last month, this quarter vs. last quarter, this year vs. last year. The comparison shows revenue, jobs completed, average ticket, and conversion rate.

  4. Act on what needs attention.

The list shows unsigned quotes, overdue invoices, jobs ready to invoice, and slow-paying clients. Click any item to act on it.

Common questions

Do I have to set anything up for reports to work?

No. The reports use the data you create when you build quotes, complete jobs, and send invoices. The more you use EosLog, the better the reports get.

How do you calculate profit per job?

Revenue minus parts and materials minus worker pay (from time tracking) minus subcontractor cost. Tax is excluded. You can edit the worker hourly rate per worker for accuracy.

Can I see margin by service or by client?

Yes. The profitability report groups by job, client, or service. Sort by margin to find your most profitable line of work or your most profitable client.

Does this replace QuickBooks?

No. QuickBooks handles your books. Reports in EosLog handle operational analytics, the kind that QuickBooks does not show you (margin per job, lead source per request, time-to-close on quotes). Use both, the QuickBooks sync keeps the numbers in line.

Can I export to a spreadsheet?

Yes. CSV on every report. PDF on the timesheet report. Excel-friendly.
