Work order questions, answered
What is a work order?
The instruction to do one specific job: who it is for, where it is, what needs doing and the price the client agreed to. The crew takes it to the site, and it comes back with what was actually done.
What is the difference between a work order and an invoice?
A work order goes out before and during the job and tells the crew what to do. The invoice goes to the client after the job and asks for payment. The work order is the record you build the invoice from.
Who signs a work order?
The client signs to approve the work and the price before it starts. Many crews have the client sign again at the end to accept the finished work, which is what the second client signature line is for.
Do I need an account to use this form?
No. Download the blank form and print it, or fill it in online and download a PDF. Neither needs an account.
How does this work in EosLog?
In EosLog a job holds the same information as this form. Your crew sees it in the mobile app, and the quote the client approved and the sign-off at the end both stay attached to the job.
Put the work order on the crew's phone
In EosLog a job holds the client, the address, and the work to be done. The crew opens it in the mobile app, and the client signs off on the phone when the work is done.
