Free quote generator questions, answered
Is the EosLog quote generator really free?
Yes. Generate as many quote PDFs as you want, free, with no account required. EosLog is the paid product behind the tool. Try the free PDF generator first, sign up for the full app only if you want to track quotes, send them by email, and get notified when customers view them.
Do I need an account to generate a PDF?
No. Fill out the form and click Generate PDF. You'll get a PDF plus a private link you can download, share with your customer, or email to yourself. We keep the quote for 90 days so that link keeps working, then delete it automatically. Import it into a free EosLog account if you want to keep and track it.
What format is the generated quote?
A standard PDF (Letter size) with your company logo, a clean line-item table, calculated totals with tax and discount, and your contact info in the header and footer. Print it, email it, or upload it anywhere.
Can I add my own logo to the quote?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP file under 2MB and it appears in the header of the PDF. The logo is stored only alongside your generated quote and is deleted with it after 90 days.
What's the difference between a quote and an invoice?
A quote proposes a price before the work: the scope, line items, and terms the customer approves. An invoice requests payment for work done: what was completed, what is owed, and how to pay. Same line items, different moment. Send the quote first; once the work is approved and finished, the invoice bills what was agreed.
How long does my quote link stay live?
Shareable quote links stay live for 90 days, then the quote is deleted automatically. Import it into a free EosLog account before then if you want to keep it.
What trades is the quote generator built for?
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, cleaning, pest control, handyman, pressure washing, and property management, each with tailored line items and pricing prompts. The generic version works for any service business.
How do I quote a unit turn?
Standard turn (cleaning, paint touch-up, minor repairs) runs $300 to $600 per unit. Heavy turn (full paint, carpet replacement, repair list) is $800 to $2,500 or more. Always inspect before quoting. Sight-unseen quotes lose money on hoarder and damage units.
Should property managers see itemized line items on the quote?
Yes. Property managers need itemized quotes to bill back to owners (commercial) or document to the trust account (residential). Break out labor by category, list materials separately, and call out any disposal fees. A line that just says "repair work, $850" gets rejected.
How do I bill multiple units on one quote?
List each unit as a separate section with its own line items, then sum to a grand total. Most property managers prefer this so they can approve unit-by-unit if budget is tight. Include the unit/apartment number on every line for cleaner accounting.
What payment terms work best for property managers?
Net 30 is the de facto standard for property management work. Some larger management companies require Net 45 or Net 60. Negotiate this up front and price accordingly so you're not financing them at a loss. Always require a signed work order before starting. Verbal approvals don't survive ownership changes.
